On being a sound-color synesthete…
I love waking up in the mornings and hearing nothing. It’s a near white in my head, due to the minor environmental noises in my building or at my lake cabin. Example, the AC is a very pale white-grey.
The sound of outdoors have many colors. Crows/ravens are distinctly a purple-hue…some of the songbirds are blues and pinks. Frogs singing at night are a dark green-blue variation. The wind rustling through the trees is also a near white.
Dogs, cats, and other animals that produce sound…depending on the tone of their voice have colors as well. I won’t go through them, since there’s too many colors heard and sometimes I tend to forget them. :p
If anyone wants to add their experiences, reblog this and add your sound-color (chromaphonia) nature experience too. Kind of interested what everyone else hears. :)

When the last month of school gets in the way, I don’t log on very often. NaPoWriMo was a bust for me, I just couldn’t get inspired for it this year. Mostly won’t take part next year. I just want to write when I’m inspired and not under pressure.
Fractals! I have a number of new ones on my deviantart And I may post some of the news to my tumblr soonish.
Synesthesia. I had a new experience when listening to music extremely tired. The colors where in technicolor, but for the particular song I listened to, the texture for the colors reminded me of the brightly colored cupcakes/cookies you can get at the bakery. So the texture has morphed into ‘tasty’. I don’t taste anything, it just is a tasty textured. Also, this is the first song I want to eat, because of the color and texture. Hmmm…I’ve learned something new about my synesthesia.
Beautiful Moon
Moon so beautiful,
shining down.
Look around to find
the planet Venus trying to
outshine the moon.
A howl off in the distance,
tells me that the wolves have
come to play in the moonlight.
Moon so lovely,
illuminating my eyes to help with
finding the magick
in the night.

Good Night
Tired.
Lack of sleep.
Motel’s mini-fridge ran
off and on.
Hope to slumber
and dream in color.
Upon my head will rest
With multiple pillows.
Good Night!

Cross the Country
Driving across country,
over the plains and
through desolate, rolling hills.
Down into a river valley
where the water is clearly
moving fast.
South Dakota fades into Nebraska,
and Nebraska to Colorado.
Home of the mountains,
the vast Rockies.

Early Spring
How spring conquers winter
by the welcomed sun in the middle of March.
Before the equinox can call its rights
to say hello, I’m here.
No one notices,
as the days seem already longer
by the end of February.
How spoiled we will be by next winter
and complaining about the cold.
Bring on the sun!

Midnight Swim
Silently floating in the water
staring up at the night sky.
Seeing the auroras dance to the north.
Silver stars twinkle in between the
swirling greens, blues and pinks.
Sighing, I get out of the water and
stare some more towards the horizon.
